Since its founding, Transformer has strived to create unique opportunities for dialogue between the DC arts community and the global contemporary visual arts field including: programmatic partnerships with US-based embassies, international trips with DC artists, and bringing international artists to DC for exhibitions of their work. These projects have fostered significant cross-cultural exchange and networks, connecting peer artists and arts spaces across innovative global platforms.
To date, Transformer has collaborated with Embassies, Ambassadors, artists, and arts organizations from 24+ countries including: Argentina, Australia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, China, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Many thanks to Transformer Advisory Council Member Michael Giacalone for his continued support as our Embassy Liaison.
